Description
Two units to choose from. The one-bedroom apartment is complete and private with its own outfitted kitchen, one bathroom with shower, queen-size bed, flexsteel sofa bed in the living room, television with basic cable, and private telephone. Lots of windows and the two skylights keep this unit bright and cheery. Uniquely situated on pilings and a boat harbor, this unit is a 1983 addition to a cottage type house built early in the century located in the Thomas-Stedman neighborhood and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
The second unit, or studio B&B room, is perfect for up to four guests. The studio has a queen bed, a twin bed and a European-style fold out twin bed with a semi-private keyed entrance through the home office (street-level access, no stairs to climb). The kitchenette is equipped with a microwave, dorm-sized refrigerator, hot plate, toaster and utensils, plus a regular sized refrigerator. There is a private full bathroom with tub/shower combination. You have wireless internet access in the studio.
Office Space
An outfitted office is located adjacent to the Studio, complete with two PC computers, Internet access, two shared phone lines, printer/copier, fax, etc. The office space is available to rent by the day, week or month.
Breakfast
A self-serve Continental-Plus breakfast provided in the apartment and studio includes pastry, bread for toast, eggs, hot and cold cereal, milk, juice, coffee and a variety of black and herbal tea.
Location
This home is DOWNTOWN on the Walking Tour on the corner of Stedman and Thomas Streets next door to the Salvation Army Chapel. It is about 2.5 miles from the Alaska ferry and about 3 miles from the airport.

Pet Policy
Small pets may be allowed with prior approval. Hosts have pet rules which will be discussed when making a reservation and a pet deposit is usually required. A charge of $10 per day will be added to the room rate for each pet.
Transportation Taxi cabs are available on the town side at the airport ferry dock and at the Alaska Marine Highway ferry terminal. To homes outside the city, it is usually better to rent a car. If you would like to rent a car, we recommend Alaska Car Rental. They have offices in town and at the airport. They offer courtesy transfers. You can get a discount with Alaska Car Rental if you book online and use my code KRSWANDA or by calling toll free 800-662-0007. The Bus operates three routes within the city limits and along Tongass Avenue as far South as Mile 4/Rotary Beach (GREEN LINE to RED LINE); and North to Mile 10/Totem Bight State Historical Park (BLUE LINE) Monday-Friday only. The fare is $1 (Adult) and $.50 (student 5 years and up) per person (exact change required in U.S. currency). No charge for immediate transfer to next bus. NOTE: Transportation is not included to your bed and breakfast. If you will not have a car, you will need to take a taxi or the Bus to the B&B or the Water Taxi from the airport to Thomas Basin. The Bus (Green Line/Blue Line/Red Line) stops on the corner of Stedman Avenue and Thomas Street in front of this B&B. Check-in is after 4 p.m. and check-out is 11 a.m. If you need an earlier check-in or later check out, arrangements will need to be made with the host prior to your arrival. You may drop off luggage prior to check in at the B&B entry on Thomas St.
Deposit and Confirmations
Full payment is required on one and two night stays at the time the reservation is made. A minimum advance deposit of the first two nights paid in full or 50% of the total reservation is required on stays of three (3) nights or more. Upon receipt of your deposit, a confirmation will be sent by mail, fax or e-mail with your bed and breakfast or vacation rental information, map, directions, and travel insurance information. The balance due, if any, is payable to KRS 60 days prior to your scheduled arrival and can be paid by personal check, cashier's check, postal money order or a major credit card.
Cancellations and Refunds
We appreciate notification as early as possible if you need to cancel or change your reservation. All cancellations are subject to a processing fee of $25 plus tax. Cancellation penalties are as follows:
| Stays 1-6 nights: | Cancellations made prior to 30 days before the scheduled arrival date are entitled to a full refund less a $25 processing fee. There are no refunds for cancellations made within 30 days of the scheduled arrival date. |
